Created from outdoor improvisational investigation along several of Columbus’s natural waterways, Shale Forming considers the layers of intermediary space between bodies and the natural world. Via a set design that is altered and transformed by the performers’ bodies, as well as captured sound that has been manipulated by sound designer Bita Bell, the work suggests movement through imaginary worlds that intersect with both urban and natural environments. The work includes an installation by artist Jacklyn Brickman on the ceiling of the gallery.
